Ellie Goulding – “Anything Could Happen”

Ellie Goulding’s first single Anything Could Happen, from her second album Halcyon, premiered today on BBC Radio One.

Anything Could Happen is a synth-pop song, solely written by Ellie. It’s in a similar vein to her previous album Lights, but shows some progression to her sound. While there’s no real chorus, the phrase “anything could happen” is repeated throughout the song. It would really benefit from a proper chorus because it falls short as it is. It’s not the most instant catchy song like Starry Eyed, but might be interesting enough to pull off a hit.

Take a listen to Anything Could Happen below in the lyric video Ellie uploaded:

Anything Could Happen is out August 21st followed by the album Halcyon on October 8th.

Alphabeat’s second single Love Sea, from their yet to be untitled third studio album, is set to be released on iTunes on August 13th. The band uploaded a small preview of Love Sea to their website earlier today.

You can listen to the clip of Love Sea below:

From the clip it sounds like it’s going to be a really catchy song. It reminds me of Whitney Houston’s How Will I Know melodically. Both Love Sea, and first single Vacation, have me very excited for their new album.

Amelia Lily – “You Bring Me Joy” Music Video

Amelia Lily’s music video for her debut single, You Bring Me Joy, has premiered on VEVO.

You Bring Me Joy was shot in L.A. with Amelia driving around with friends. While it’s not the most eventful video since most of it consists of shopping, spraying a guy with water guns and dancing on the beach, it doesn’t look like a debut video.

Amelia comes across very self-confident and convincing, especially in her scenes on the beach. The video is also edited well and suits the tone of the song.

You Bring Me Joy is out on September 2nd followed by Amelia’s debut album later this year.

P!nk’s video for Blow Me (One Last Kiss) premiered on her official VEVO.

While it’s a good video and a different concept than expected, it doesn’t really fit the song at all.
