P!nk has collaborated with Lily Allen

P!nk has collaborated with Lily Allen on her upcoming album The Truth About Love. In an interview with Carson Daly, P!nk confirmed the collaboration. Lily Allen also retweeted a number of tweets about the duet. This will be Lily’s first work since coming out of retirement.

P!nk told Carson Daly:

For the last 14 years, everyone has said no [to collaborations]. But this album, everyone said yes! And I think that’s because people think I’ve softened. I think people maybe think I bite!

It’s an interesting collaboration because P!nk and Lily Allen are probably the last people I would’ve expected to duet. I would’ve expected a P!nk and Kelly Clarkson collaboration before this. But in a way this could be a bit amazing since they’re both two of the best lyricists in pop.

The collaboration possibly came about because P!nk and Lily have both been working with Greg Kurstin. Greg produced P!nk’s lead single from The Truth About Love, Blow Me (One Last Kiss), so the two would’ve both been in the studio with Greg around the same time.

The Truth About Love is out September 18th.

Nelly Furtado – “Spirit Indestructible” Music Video

The second single from Nelly Furtado’s upcoming fifth studio album, Spirit Indestructible premiered today on her official VEVO. After the flop first single, Big Hoops, Spirit Indestructible is much more radio friendly and has potential to become a hit if it catches on.

The video shows Nelly performing by a piano for the acoustic first part of the song before showing her in various nature scenes such as a snowy mountain top, a field and a beach.

For a song that’s meant to save an album campaign, the video for Spirit Indestructible doesn’t make much of an impact. It looks nice and all but it doesn’t compare to any of her videos from the Loose era.

Spirit Indestructible is out August 3rd, followed by the album of the same name on September 11th.

No Doubt – “Settle Down” Music Video

The music video for Settle Down, No Doubt’s first single in a decade, premiered on VEVO.

In the video, the band are driving trucks trying to find a venue, before performing at a reggae-styled party which suits the sound of the song perfectly. At 6:14 length, it feels a bit long and repetitive. Gwen looks incredible though.

Settle Down is available to download now from iTunes.

Madonna – “Turn Up The Radio” Music Video

Madonna’s video for her third single from MDNA, Turn Up The Radio, premiered on VEVO.

For most of the video Madonna is dancing in the back of a car which gets swarmed with fans and paparazzi as it drives. In other scenes Madonna has a party in the car.

It’s not the most exciting music video but it should do it’s job to help the most radio friendly single on the album become a hit.
