The video for Mutya Keisha Siobhan’s comeback single Flatline premiered on VEVO. The video was shot in LA using a Super 8 camera. It’s a very retro and colourful video and makes the girls look like a proper girlband again. MKS look effortlessly cool while performing the song. The only negative is that the camera is very shaky.

Katy Perry – “Roar” New Single

katy-perry-s-roar-arrives-earlyKaty Perry’s new single Roar leaked two days early. Roar is written by Katy, Bonnie McKee and Henry Walter and produced by Dr Luke, Max Martin and Cirkut. It’s a progression from Katy’s previous album Teenage Dream as it’s not as colourful but at the same time it’s not as dark as expected.

There’s been plenty of comparisons online of Roar and Sara Bareilles’ song Brave, but while there are similarities, Roar has a lot of differences that make it more anthemic.

The lyric video for Roar is also very creative, using Whatsapp and Emoji icons to display the lyrics. Check it out below:

Roar is available worldwide on iTunes.

Diana Vickers – “Music To Make Boys Cry” Video Premiere

Diana Vickers’ music video for Music To Make Boys Cry premiered on VEVO. Music To Make Boys Cry is the title track and the second single from her upcoming second album.

The video, while low budget, is much better than Cinderella. The video is about Diana having a house party but it’s not obvious until she looks in the mirror that she’s imagining that there’s people around her when she’s actually having a party by herself. It’s a clever concept but a bit sad at the same time.

Bonnie McKee has released her new single American Girl as a free download via her official site. She has also released a video for the track similar to the viral videos for Carly Rae Jepsen’s Call Me Maybe. The video features cameos from tonnes of singers and celebrities including Katy Perry, Ke$ha, Adam Lambert, Macklemore and Carly Rae Jepsen herself.

Bonnie, whose written for most of the artists in the video, might finally get the recognition she deserves with such a huge track like American Girl. It’s a Teenage Dream style anthem with a massive chorus, full of catchy melodies and hooks.

However, it’s a bit sad that most people will think Bonnie’s copying the sound of Katy Perry, Ke$ha, etc. when she’s behind a lot of their biggest hits. Hopefully with American Girl being so catchy, the comparisons might get overlooked.
